After Yachting Pages Barche a Motore also crowns Marina di Loano 2018 record year for the marina resort

One of the most beautiful marinas in the world and one of the best Italian ports. Marina di Loano works to be constantly at the top and the results are visible. Mentioned among the ten most beautiful marinas in the world by the prestigious magazine "Yachting Pages", in 2018, Marina di Loano obtained from RINA the MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus certification, the "5 Timoni" and "50 Gold", testifying to the excellence of its infrastructure and services.

The International Certification Body has officially certified the safety and quality of the tourist and accommodation services provided by the Loano facility. In addition, as part of the individual aspects of the MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus assessment, Marina di Loano was the first in Italy to achieve RINA's Green certification for environmental sustainability.

It was also only a few days ago that the specialised monthly magazine "Barche a Motore" placed Marina di Loano among "the eight top moorings for boats in Italy".

A ranking that takes into account many factors, first and foremost the relationship between the quality and variety of services and the average cost per berth: "As mentioned by 'Barche a Motore' in the presentation of our port," explains director Uberto Paoletti, "Marina di Loano is a modern, state-of-the-art facility. It offers all the services of an authentic resort and many opportunities for a comprehensive sea experience all year round. In addition to guaranteeing a quality welcome and maximum assistance 24 hours a day to boats from 6 to 80 metres, the Yacht Club Marina di Loano, its guest quarters and solarium, 'Il Ristorante', and all the other commercial activities present in the structure satisfy sailors' every need and offer pleasant moments of relaxation and fun for all."

The quality of these services is confirmed by last year's figures. 2018 consolidated the positive trend already seen in previous years, with a sharp increase in both transits and new permanent berth contracts. In the last 12 months, the number of sailors who have chosen Marina di Loano as their boat's "home" has increased by 15%. The number of boats that "stopped over" in transit in Loano exceeded 1,200. A significant result, to which is added that of the superyacht sector: within the Marina di Loano basin there are 25 boats between 30 and 80 metres long.

Marina di Loano can accommodate more than 900 boats from 6 to 80 metres long in an easily accessible and safe basin, even in the most adverse weather conditions. The umpteenth confirmation came during the extremely violent sea storm that hit Liguria at the end of October: the imposing breakwater that protects Loano's tourist port was able to withstand the force of the waves, up to seven metres high, that hit Loano's coastline and, more generally, the entire Ligurian coast. In some cases, however, the bad weather severely devastated both port facilities and moored vessels. This is why Marina di Loano has agreed to offer free accommodation to all boaters affected by the storm for a period of three months.

Marina di Loano is also a very attractive place from a commercial point of view: in fact, many entrepreneurs have chosen to set up their business in the premises of the port's "commercial gallery". In the coming months, the "Food Hall" that characterises Loano's marina will be enriched by the opening of a new restaurant and a new gourmet pizzeria.

Not forgetting the new Marina Diving outlet, the new Blu&Blu sailing licence school and the ship-chandler Anfibia Yacht. In addition, there are the companies that have chosen Loiano Marina as a showcase for their best products: among them are true giants such as Frauscher, Fountaine Pajot, Yamaha, and Volvo Penta. Finally, to ensure even more security within the port area, the new Carabinieri maritime crossing office was inaugurated on the ground floor of the "Corte".

Marina di Loano is also a key centre for sea-related sports: as well as hosting the Italian Sailing Federation's Centre of High Specialisation, it regularly hosts major competitions. Such as the 2018 National Youth Double Championships (organised by the Circolo Nautico in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Federation, in which 305 boats took part) and the Marina di Loano Winter Championship (event is organised by Circolo Nautico del Finale, Circolo Nautico Loano, CNAM Alassio, Circolo Nautico Andora, with the collaboration of Marina di Loano and Yacht Club Marina di Loano). These events have sold out in terms of participation, with considerable sporting and media coverage and an important economic impact on the area.
