Marina di Loano continues to grow. During 2019, the Loano port confirmed the positive trend already seen in previous years, considerably increasing the number of permanent mooring contracts.
For the second consecutive year, the number of sailors who chose to be guests at Marina di Loano grew "by double figures" with a 10% rise compared to 2018.
Marina di Loano can accommodate over 997 boats from 6 to 80 metres in length. In this respect, the number of superyachts (over 30 metres in length) increased by 10.5% in 2019 compared to 2018, to around 100 units.
Marina di Loano has a basin that is easily accessible and safe even in the most adverse weather conditions. After the extremely violent sea storms that devastated the coastline of the whole of Liguria in October 2018, a new confirmation came during the very strong wave of bad weather at the end of last November. The imposing breakwater protecting Loano's marina was able to withstand the force of the waves and perfectly protect the boats inside the basin.
As well as being one of the most desirable Marina Resorts for sailors, Marina di Loano is also an important economic hub, capable of attracting the interest of any businessman. The port's "shopping arcade" will soon be enriched with a new fashion clothing shop and a new agency of the nautical broker "Motor Boat & Sail".
During 2019, Marina di Loano also distinguished itself once again from the point of view of promoting sea-related sports: in addition to hosting the High Specialisation Centre of the Italian Sailing Federation, it regularly hosts important competitions. For instance, the Marina di Loano Winter Championship (the event, which is still ongoing, is organised by Circolo Nautico del Finale, Circolo Nautico Loano, CNAM Alassio, Circolo Nautico Andora, with the collaboration of Marina di Loano and Yacht Club Marina di Loano).
As proof of the excellence of the infrastructure and its services, Marina di Loano has obtained the MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus, the "5 Timoni" and "50 Gold" certifications from RINA. The International Certification Body has officially certified the safety and quality of the tourist and accommodation services provided by the Loano facility. In addition, as part of the individual aspects of the MaRINA Excellence 24 Plus assessment, Marina di Loano was the first in Italy to achieve RINA's Green certification for environmental sustainability. Last year, the specialised monthly magazine "Barche a Motore" placed Marina di Loano among "the top eight boat moorings in Italy". Finally, Marina di Loano has been included among the ten most beautiful marinas in the world by the prestigious magazine "Yachting Pages".
This year, Marina di Loano will once again participate in Boot Düsseldorf, a boat show that hosts the most prestigious brands of superyachts, sailing and motorboats, and numerous brands specialising in water sports and diving. Marina di Loano will be in Düsseldorf from 18 to 26 January together with Marina Genova, Marina Porto Antico, Marina Molo Vecchio and Porto Lotti, the five Ligurian tourist facilities of excellence that make up the "Liguria for Yachting" network.
The Ligurian network, now in its third year of activity, returns for the second time to Boot Dusseldorf, the winter capital of pleasure boating, to promote its 2,400 berths in a synergic way and as a testimonial of a unique territory and sea, offering the international market high-profile hospitality solutions thanks to the high quality standards of all the ports that are part of the network.
