Marina di Loano Winter Championship, the results of the fourth weekend of regattas

7/23/2021

Only one race was performed on Saturday 25 January for 36 boats entered in the second edition of the Marina di Loano Winter Championship. Good weather and plenty of sunshine also prevailed on Sunday 26 January, but the patience of the sailors was not rewarded on this occasion: the wind was largely absent and the boats remained moored at the quay. The event was organised by the Circolo Nautico del Finale, the Circolo Nautico Loano, the CNAM Alassio and the collaboration of the Yacht Club Marina di Loano.

A good start on Saturday 25 January: crews set off in a Tramontana up to 17 knots, which then gradually diminished as it turned to the west and then returned to the north again. Tacticians and crews worked on a 10-mile coastal course with the start and the disengagement side upwind towards Pietra Ligure, the first buoy and then headed for the second buoy off Borgio Verezzi. From here a long side to Borghetto Flaminio for the last buoy to round before heading towards Marina di Loano where the finish line was located. A demanding race for all, with significant variations in both direction and intensity, which remained the only one of the weekend due to the absence of raw material (the wind) on Sunday 26.

These are the results of the provisional general classification at the end of the fourth leg:
